Martin started working in estate agency in early 2013 in Helston for a large corporate company. After 3 and 1/2 years moved to Bradleys as branch manager.

Martin Clements, Branch Manager, told Nub News:

"The thing that I wanted to implement when I moved over to Bradleys is what I class as old fashioned estate agency and that is knowing our client base.

"The market was drifting towards online agents and selling, I didn't like that, I think what sells houses is our staff and the reason they sell houses is that they know the people.

"I came from butchery and fishmongery before this and it is about an over the counter experience, it is about knowing people's names, knowing what they like and don't like. All we want is to be recognised as a good quality, reliable agent in the town."

Asked about how they make the process of buying a house easier for their customers, Martin continued:

"Last month we actually contributed to £14.9 million of exchanged contracts in this office, it takes a lot for someone to entrust you with their biggest asset so the first point of contact is doing right by the seller, we have to service that client right and look after them. The buyer needs to also believe in what we say, we want to be a trusted agent.

"What we try to do is make sure everybody is open and knowledgeable about what is going on during the process from start to finish."

The office works later than any other agent in the town operating until 6pm and working from home until 10pm in the evening, making it easier for clients to register for viewings and look at houses.

Martin continued:

"At some point during buying and selling a house it will get stressful but we are here to listen, we are here for advice, we are here to problem solve sometimes we are just here for a general chat, and as an ear to help someone with any issues."
