Cornwall Council has announced how much it plans to increase parking charges for Helston and surrounding areas in 2020/21.

Under the proposals fees in council car parks will increase by 1.5% from April for the next year. The price hikes will apply to short-term and long-term parking charges across the council's car parks.

Wendron Parish Council has confirmed that Cormac Surfacing will be carrying out patching work along the B3297 commencing Wednesday 22nd January.

The work will be carried out under a phased road closure between the hours of 09:30 – 16:30 with traffic marshals in place throughout to assist road users.

Cornwall Council's public health team works hard to provide support for people throughout the year with their mental health and are currently taking a new approach, developing a 'Mental Health Safety Plan' so that people can help themselves during any stage of a mental health crisis.

Free period products are to be made available to all schools and colleges in Helston, helping to break down stigmas and ensure no young person's education is disrupted by their period.

From Monday 20 January, schools and colleges across the country will be able to order a range of period products from supplier phs Group, making period products readily available for all young people when they need them.
