Woman seriously injured after crash in Helston

A woman has been seriously injured following a collision between two vehicles on the A394 Sithney, between Helston and Penzance.

The incident happened at around 10:10am on Saturday 1 February and involved a black BMW 5 series driven by a 39-year-old woman from the Helston area and a blue VW Polo, driven by a 43-year-old woman, also from the Helston area.

As a result of the collision, the driver of the VW Polo received serious injuries to her leg and head and was taken to Treliske Hospital.

The driver of the BMW received minor injuries. Passengers of both vehicles were treated for minor injuries.

Officers from the Roads Policing Team and local resources attended the scene to carry out investigations.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision or anyone with any dash cam footage of the incident to contact police on the 101 enquiry number quoting incident log number 307 01/02/20.
