Over the Christmas period at the end of 2022, the Helston Chamber of Commerce & Industry organised some great festive entertainment with three late-night Christmas shopping events.

Alongside the Christmas carols and selfies with Santa were two competitions, the Nutcracker Trail and the Christmas Card design challenge.

The winner of each competition was presented with prizes last Friday afternoon (13th of January) at Guildhall in the town centre.

Raef, aged 4, from Germoe Community Primary School won the Christmas Card competition. His festive artwork impressed judges Tim Grattan-Kane, Mayor of Helston, and Rev. Danny Reed, minister at the Methodist Church in Coinagehall Street.

For his excellent work, Raef was awarded a Deluxe Art Kit and Flambards Family Pass, his design will now also be used for the festive season next year, 1,000 jumbo Christmas Cards will be printed with his design and all proceeds from the sale will be donated to the school.
