Scattered snow showers have been forecast for Helston and the surrounding area.

Snow is forecast to arrive in the early hours through until Tuesday evening.

This evening, the Kernow Weather Team said there is a "chance of snow," adding:

"This is due to a shift in the wind tending to veer from northeasterly to more easterly this will pick up a lot of moisture which could turn to snow."

It was particularly cold today with the temperature taking a noticeable drop, cold air is now firmly in place across the whole of the UK, with wind chill making conditions feel even colder.

The KWT also said there is another chance of snow on Thursday as well.

They continued:

"It's so difficult to say who or where will see any snow at this time as weather models are constantly changing, it might just be snow flurries and sleet.

"Please beware of the wind chill tomorrow, it's looking likely to feel as cold as -9c.

"We are monitoring the weather charts all the time and we will keep you updated on any further information."

Cornwall Council urged residents to be careful on the roads, adding:

"Vaccination sites are included in our priority gritting routes. Take extra care on the roads and only travel if essential."
