By Joseph Macey 26th Aug 2021

Armed personnel were pictured sweeping a Helston housing estate yesterday afternoon (25th).

Images shared to Nub News showed a police van parked up, with around 8 armed officers in Charles Bassett Close, near Trelawney Road.

Now, police have revealed the reason behind the heavy armed presence - with a 31-year-old man from Helston being placed under arrest.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police added:

"A 31-year-old man from Helston was arrested on suspicion of breach of licence. He remains in police custody at this time."
