'Looking forward to it!' - That's the reaction from Fishermen's Mission Helston to the prospect of shops reopening again.

It's been a long and tough winter for us all through Lockdown 3.0 - but the end is fast approaching, following the government's four-step plan to end lockdown.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson promised that the 'end really is in sight' as he revealed the route out of lockdown.

Speaking in the House of Commons on Monday afternoon Mr Johnson detailed the road back to normality for us all - with shops expected to start opening again on April 12th.

The news has been greeted with cautious optimism in our town.

It is almost a year to the day that Melinda King first got the keys for the new Fishermen's Mission shop on Coinagehall Street.

It is also the missions 140th anniversary this year, with shop manager Melinda revealing there are lots planned.

She also said it was nice to finally get some clarity and a reopening date to look forward to.
