Wallys Roasts is a takeaway and delivery service on 59 Meneage Street in Helston, that opened in November 2022. They cook up Yorkshire wraps and full roast dinners and offer to delivery it right to your house.

Over December the team at Wallys Roasts set up a Pass It Forward- Project Helston to try and help those struggling but recently shared some news on social media of how important this campaign can be.

Wallys Roasts posted on Facebook that their day of work has made them realise more than ever how much people are struggling, they said: "We had two families, first a single mum with 2 children come in, whose been down to church today to see if they could help, luckily for her they had some cakes and donuts.

"She informed me that she and her children haven't had anything hot to eat in a couple of days, and her children have only eaten Tuna as she was given some. She was low on electricity, so she came in and we made her some food for her and her children.

"Another family came in, a single mum with 5 children, and she said she didn't have any money to feed her children. She had hit hard times due to various reasons, we only had 3 vouchers left, but we gave her enough hot food to feed all of them."

Although Wallys Roasts had donated 20 meal vouchers themselves, they acknowledged it wouldn't go far enough and asked members of the local community if they would like to donate meals.

The team has created a link where people can pay a meal cost of £7.50 which will be used as a voucher for those struggling.
