Nearly three months of roadworks are expected to cause some delays for Helston motorists.

Wall repairs will mean the route between Penhellaz Hill and Cross Street, Helston, will be closed from the 1st March until the 28th May - the closure will be in force 24 hours a day, weekends included.

The work taking place will be mesh and bolt strengthening to existing highway retaining wall, rebuilding and repairing a parapet.

Kevin Bryant, Head of Highways and Infrastructure said:

"The Council is satisfied that the order is needed because works are being executed on or near the road to carry out wall repairs.

"Nothing in this Order will apply to emergency services, traffic associated with the works required within the highway specified above, any vehicle being used for the purposes of an undertaker in an emergency, such as loss of utility supplies and anything done with the permission of or at the discretion of a police officer.

"Pedestrian and Vehicular access to residents and businesses will be maintained."
