Natasha Mossayebi the owner of The Coffee Hut Helston is trying to raise awareness for the current situation in Iran with the idea 'cook for Iran', on social media Natasha said her family in Iran passed on the simple message "pray for us".

The death of a young woman in Iran has caused mass outcry and protests, Mahsa Amini died while in police custody after being arrested for wearing her headscarf too loosely. Natasha has grandparents, an auntie, uncles, and lots of cousins all living in Iran.

The idea of cook for Iran is to keep Iran in the spotlight, to help with their fight for basic human rights, freedom, and a safer, better future. The movement hopes to draw attention to the human rights issues in Iran through culture, food, and community.

Natasha told me she will be cooking some of her favourite Persian dishes in the Cafe and will be sharing recipes on social media too, Natasha shared this message: "let's keep the movement going, raising awareness and talking about Iran and the harrowing situation over there. Let's keep fighting for basic human rights, especially for women!!!!

"This week I'll be serving one of my favourite Persian dishes in the cafe - Khorak, served with basmati rice and warm pitta bread, I hope you feel inspired to cook some Persian dishes at home! And if you want to get in touch to find out more, send me a message."
