A pollution alert has been issued in Porthleven with storm sewage said to be running into local waters.

Surfers Against Sewage has put pollution warnings at Porthleven Sands and a series of other beaches across Cornwall.

At Porthleven Sands, the Surfers Against Sewage alert reads:

"Storm sewage has been discharged from a sewer overflow in this location within the past 48 hours.

"There are three sewer overflows in the area, one discharges into the harbour, one to the east of the harbour mouth over the rocks into the sea and another at the western end of Porthleven West."

South West Water has been approached for further information.

The details of the bathing water quality can be found on an interactive map here.
