UPDATE: Accident cleared on A3083 both ways from B3293 (Garras) to Chypons Road (Cury Cross Lanes).

There is likely to be delays if you are driving between Helston and The Lizard this morning following an accident.

The road has closed as a result of the accident, early reports have suggested that a lorry left the road on the A3083.

However, a nearby resident reported it was a fire engine that came off the road, "approximately a mile before the mini roundabout near Culdrose."

The AA traffic map reads:

"A lorry that has left the road involved on A3083 both ways from B3293 to Chypons Road. Road closed as of 10:15.

"A specialist recovery team has been requested. Affecting traffic between Cury Cross Lanes and Helston."
