A road closure will be in place in the middle of Porthleven until next week for water and sewer connection work.

The work gets underway today (26th) at Salt Cellar Hill and will continue until Thursday 5th November.

Delays are expected for the duration of the work.

A notice from Cornwall Council reads:

"The Council is satisfied that the Order is needed because works are being executed on or near the road to carry out works to excavate for new water and sewer connections.

"The Order will come into operation on 26th October 2020 and the works are expected to be completed by the 5th November 2020. The prohibition will be in force 24 hours a day weekends included.

"Nothing in this order will apply to emergency services, traffic associated with the works required within the highway specified above, any vehicle being used for the purposes of an undertaker in an emergency, such as loss of utility supplies and anything done with the permission of or at the discretion of a police officer.

"Pedestrian and Vehicular access to residents and businesses will be maintained."
