Road closure and diversion route in Mullion next month

By Joseph Macey 21st Dec 2020

In early January part of Mullion will be closed with a diversion route in place to repair a carriageway surface.

The closure will be in force between the hours of 0730 and 1800 on a daily basis, weekdays only - over an area of the highway being Poldhu Road between the junction of Polhorman Lane.

The Order will come into operation on 4th January 2021 and the works are expected to be completed by the 8th January.

Kevin Bryant, Head of Highways and Infrastructure at Cornwall Council said:

"The Council is satisfied that the order is needed because works are being executed on or near the road to carry out repairs to the carriageway.

"Nothing in this order will apply to emergency services, traffic associated with the works required within the highway specified above, any vehicle being used for the purposes of an undertaker in an emergency, such as loss of utility supplies and anything done with the permission of or at the discretion of a police officer.

"Pedestrian and Vehicular access to residents and businesses will be maintained. An alternative route will be signed on-site."
