Rick Stein's restaurant in Porthleven closes down

It has been announced that celebrity chef, Rick Stein, is closing one of his flagship restaurants in Porthleven.

Situated on Mount Pleasant Road, restaurant Rick Stein served a variety of local fish and produce while overlooking the harbour.

A spokesperson for the restaurant said:

"We are very sad to announce that our restaurant in Porthleven will not be reopening.

"We would like to thank all our customers who have supported us there over the years.

"We hope you will find your way to our other restaurants where perhaps we can share fond memories of nights overlooking the romantic harbour in Porthleven."

Rick Stein has numerous other restaurants around the county, including Falmouth and Padstow.

Residents have been responding to the news of the closure on social media.

"We have enjoyed many lovely meals at Porthleven, sorry to hear this. I wish the fantastic team at Porthleven all the best for the future," one resident stated.

"Very sad for the fantastic team at Porthleven. Thinking of you all," said another.
