Residents of The Lizard reported a "hit and run" incident late last week with police attending the scene to investigate.

As reported by a resident of Pentreath Lane, a driver hit two vans causing a "considerable" amount of damage on Friday 11th.

He then ploughed into and wrecked the gate at their destination before turning around, and damaging a car during their manoeuvre, driving back out of the village and abandoning the vehicle near Ruan Minor.

One resident said it was, "devastating for those affected and having to deal with it all."

The police were called to the scene to carry out an investigation of the area following the incident.

"It is so lucky no one was injured, it really upsets me to think about what could have happened as a result of this person's irresponsible actions," the resident added.

Devon and Cornwall Police have been contacted for further details.

More information to come when we have them.
