Pre-application plans unveiled for housing development at Predannack Holiday Village, The Lizard

By Joseph Macey 2nd Sep 2021

This week, early plans were presented for a housing development on land at Predannack Holiday Village, The Lizard.

In the planning submission, the applicant is seeking permission to build 9 houses with various access arrangements.

The proposal comprises an infill site between two clusters of existing residential and holiday development at Preddanack.

The layout will provide for up to 9 detached dwellings around a new estate road and new access onto the A3083 to serve the development.

The site does lie with an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, however, given the nature and location of the proposal site lying between two "poor quality" developments it is thought a sensitively designed development would conserve and enhance the landscape of the location.

In a concluding statement the applicant writes:

"It is considered that the site at Predannack is a settlement suitable for residential development.

"It is proposed the residential development would be of high-quality design and appropriate use of local materials given the AONB location."

The applicant will now wait for the feedback of the planning officer before deciding whether or not to move forward with the plans.
