Positive response from Planning Officer to community led affordable housing scheme in The Lizard

Cornwall Council's Planning Officer has provided a response to a proposal for a community led housing scheme on land adjoining The Triangle, Lizard.
The plans would a community led affordable housing program of 9 dwellings built on land to the northern edge of the village and comprises a triangular parcel of rough grassland, bramble, and scrub.
The homes would be 100% affordable, guided by the communities housing need Cornwall Community Land Trust will look to provide a range of tenures and property sizes.
The Parish Council (Landewednack) owns the site and it is understood that they are agreeable to offering their land to facilitate a community led, affordable housing scheme.
Obviously, the plans are in the very early stages but the site for affordable housing could be supported (subject to conditions), said the Planning Officer.
In a concluding statement the officer added:
"Particular issues to resolve surround the mix and tenure of affordable housing proposed to meet the evidenced need, community support for a scheme in this location, and suitable integration with the built and natural environment through appropriate design and achieving a safe and suitable access for both vehicles and pedestrians."
It will now be a waiting stage to see if the applicant wishes to proceed with the scheme.
