The organiser of a Helston music festival has announced the tough decision to postpone this year's events.

Heart Beats Festival is a day of music and dance featuring bands and artists all performing for free to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.

Usually held at The Blue Anchor, previous years have been struck hard by covid, with the last Heart Beats Festival held nearly three years ago.

Organised by local music nut Kay Harvey, coronavirus and health issues have contributed to the postponement.

However, Kay said the festival is her "baby" and she "can't let it go", moving it to next year.

Kay told Nub News about the very hard decision to cancel the events this year.

She said:

"It is with the greatest sadness I have made a huge heartbreaking decision to postpone the next Heart Beats Music Festival until 2023.

"I have had a dreadful year so far with my physical and mental health, which has impounded my heart condition so it is not worth going the stress of organising anymore.

"Hugely grateful thanks to the bands and everyone who had committed to it. To be honest I can't see things being easier with coronavirus.

"Thank you to everyone who constantly supports me and is loyal to me, but I have lost my sparkle. Hugely grateful to all the supporters of Heart Beats Music Festival."
