New owners of Mullion hotel plot major extension

There are plans for major upgrades to Polurrian on the Lizard as the new owners look to enhance the facilities.

Early plans have been revealed in a pre-application that would increase the number of rooms, add new spa facilities, and a large function room.

As reported in February, the hotel was taken over by Travel Sector Property Limited (TSPL) who pledged further investment into the hotel.

Part of the plans is increasing the number of rooms, a brand new function room with a bigger capacity, and a new heated pool.

The takeover of the hotel was announced in February after a Lincolnshire businessman purchased the hotel.

Andrew Long, Principal Director of TSPL, holidayed with his family in Cornwall for over three decades - before acquiring the hotel they return to year-in-year-out.

The new owners also entered into a management agreement with the vendor group, Luxury Hotel Management Limited under the helm of Nigel Chapman, well established and highly experienced hoteliers.

Andrew Long is a co-founder of the Extra Motorway Services Areas Group, where he continues to be CEO and an ongoing investor.

He has around 35 years of property and operational experience in the hospitality and roadside sectors and has a number of exciting plans for further investment in the Polurrian to enhance the existing facilities.
