Mullion resident pushing boundaries and battling fears in charity firewalk

By Joseph Macey 8th Apr 2022

A Mullion resident will be facing sizzling coals at Headland Hotel Newquay for charity.

Jo Lewis, who is a Member Pioneer and employee of Mullion Co-op, Nansmellyon Road, will be joining a group of people doing a firewalk for Cornwall Mind this evening (7th).

They will be taking on the challenge to help support those that are experiencing mental health difficulties in Cornwall.

Jo said:

"With over one in four people experiencing a mental health problem, it can happen to anyone.

"The coronavirus pandemic has caused a mental health emergency and Cornwall Mind is experiencing an unprecedented demand for its vital services. Please help me to be there so no one has to face a mental health problem alone.

"We are fighting for mental health. For support. For respect. For you."

Jo says she is "blown away" by everyone's donations after raising around £900 - smashing the original target of £100.

She will be doing the walk between 8:30pm and 9pm this evening.
