Mullion Parish Council pushing for "safe crossing" after collision involving a child

Mullion Parish Council have urged for a safe crossing along Nansmellyon Road following a recent incident involving a child.
On Thursday (20th) May a child was taken to hospital with a serious injury to the arm after a collision with a vehicle along this route.
Following the latest incident, the council wants to see a safer crossing implemented "asap" after years of campaigning for one.
Cornwall Council did approve funding in September 2020 for a 20mph zone with a tabletop section to slow traffic at the Willis Vean junction - and Mulllion Parish are now in touch with a local Cornwall Councillor to bring the project forward.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the parish council added:
"It has been brought to the Parish Council's attention that an accident occurred near to the Primary School, sadly involving a child. We have been campaigning for years for a safe crossing to be installed on Nansmellyon Road.
"We have tasked our new Cornwall Councillor with bringing this project to fruition. Further information will be released as soon as we know dates."
