Man to appear in court after incident at Helston Library

A man has been charged and is set to appear in court after an incident at Helston Library.

A heavy armed police presence was reported in the town on Friday (22nd), with a man detained following the incident.

Local residents stated that armed police were "all over" the library, Trengrouse Way.

The library was forced to close over the weekend.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police added:

"Adam Burgoyne, aged 32, of Trelawney Road, Helston, has been charged with using threatening or abusive words or behaviour to cause fear of violence.

"He is due to appear at Bodmin Magistrates Court today [25th Oct]."
