A hotel near Mullion has been named 'Best Presented Afternoon Tea of The Year' by a leading industry magazine.

Cornwall's Polurrian on The Lizard hotel was presented the prestigious award by the Food & Beverage Magazine.

The coastal retreat was the only hotel in the South West to be shortlisted with a menu inspired by its location on the Lizard Peninsula.

Deputy General Manager, Ricky Dent, said: "We are so proud to have competed against some of the biggest 5-star hotels in the country. The judges complimented us on the provenance of our food, and I believe that this and the fact we draw upon our local area as inspiration for the menu design, really gave us the winning edge."

Cornish Afternoon Tea will be available for guests and local residents to enjoy from this Friday.
