A driver is recovering in hospital after she crashed into a Helston pub on New Year's Eve.
Robyn Gray from Helston was on her way home when she lost control of her Mondeo Estate around 10pm on the 31st of December and collided with The Red Lion, Church Street.
Ambulance, the fire service, and police were all on the scene following the incident. Police breathalysed Robyn which came out as negative.
Luckily for Robyn, she only suffered injuries to her foot and ankle. She told Nub News that she takes full responsibility for the incident which caused a commotion for the pub owners and people partying inside. There were no further injuries from the incident.
From her hospital bed, Robyn told Nub News:
"I'm getting there. I am still in hospital hoping to get a new cast before I can finally go home.
"It was pretty scary but I am the one responsible for the crash. I'm glad everyone else was okay and no one else got injured. I want to apologise to everyone for causing a disturbance on New Year's Eve."
Owner of The Red Lion Hayley Nicholas added:
"The damage isn't too bad. Very lucky no one got hurt as there are always people stood out there."
Devon and Cornwall Police have been approached for further comment.
