Local fire teams battled with a gorse fire for over 4 hours yesterday evening.

At around 8:45pm last night, St. Keverne Community Fire Station were called to a fire in the open between Landkidden cove and Kennack on the cliff path - assisted by crews from Mullion and Helston.

This is another incident after a series of fires last week in the area,

being treated as a suspected arson.

Natural fire breaks and beaters were used to contain and extinguish the flames. The incident was scaled down at 12:30am.

"Crews from St Keverne stayed on scene for 30 mins to watch for hotspots and re-ignition, we returned to station at 01:20am," a spokesperson from St. Keverne added.
