Local fire teams tackle gorse blaze at Church Cove

A call out for local fire crews after a wildfire at Church Cove, The Lizard.

Appliances from Helston and St Keverne responded to the incident, Tuesday 14th, just after 10am.

A spokesperson for Cornwall Fire and Rescue commented: "On a arrival a fire involving 30 meters of gorse was discovered. Firefighters used beaters and wildfire water packs to extinguish the fire."

Eyewitnesses on the scene commented:

"Gorse fire in the quarry, fire brigade been twice now seems to be out."

Another said:

"A second fire engine went past Croft Parc with blues going."
