Local coastguard called out after teenager dislocates knee

A busy weekend with Porthoustock Coastguard called out to multiple incidents.

Yesterday (16th) the coastguard were tasked to a kayaker in distress and a teenager with a dislocated knee.

The teenager was in the remote location of Lankidden, Porthoustock were assisted by crews from Mullion, Porthleven, Falmouth Lifeboat, and a helicopter from Newquay.

A spokesperson for the coastguard said: "Team paged to Porthoustock to a kayaker in the water who managed to self recover. Then a second job to Lankidden to a 15-year-old with a dislocated knee. With access very difficult and the tide rapidly approaching the casualty, R924 from Newquay was requested to airlift the casualty to awaiting CRT team members up the top.

"Also in attendance were Mullion Coastguard Rescue Team, Porthleven Coastguard Rescue Team and Falmouth Inshore lifeboat."
