21:01 - 359 ballots cast 211 in favour of Johnson 148 against Johnson - Johnson remains PM.

18:00 - Voting has started. The result will be announced at 9pm.

14:40 - Derek Thomas responds.

"This evening's vote of No Confidence can either draw a line under the past months of questions about the suitability of the PM for this high office or allow it to fester on.

"It is not straightforward to change a Prime Minister, but in my gut I know it is the right thing to do - which is why I submitted my letter of No Confidence back on the 21st of April."

12:20 - Boris Johnson will address backbench MPs at 4pm today, before the vote at 6pm.

12:02 - A statement from Derek Thomas will be coming later this afternoon.
