The Lizard RNLI team was tasked yesterday afternoon with two kayakers struggling in the water.

The lifeboat was launched at 4:35pm with the two people reported to have fallen from kayaks and swimming back to shore.

A spokesperson for The Lizard RNLI Lifeboat team said:

"Upon arrival on scene, our smaller Y-boat was deployed and our crew safely brought the casualties ashore from the rocks they had made their way to. Both proceeded to receive attention from awaiting paramedics.

"Also in attendance were the Mullion Coastguard Rescue Team, Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 924 and South West ambulance paramedics. RNLB Rose returned to her station at The Lizard at 6pm."
