Pastor Israel Stanway of Hayle Light & Life Free Methodist Church is organising a motorcycle event titled Highway to Well to raise funds for Children's Hospice South West (CHSW).

The event was held for the first time last year and despite poor weather conditions, saw 35 motorcycles get involved and raise over £700 for CHSW.

This year Israel is aiming to make it even bigger and better; "Last year I was overwhelmed with the turnout of riders to support CHSW and was blown away with the generosity of those who supported. Let's try to increase the numbers this year, to raise awareness of all that CHSW does and support them in that."

Highway to Well is returning on Saturday 18 June and is open to any motorcyclists who wish to join the event which will leave from RNAS Culdrose at 1pm, ride down to the Lizard and then on to Lands End where the finish will be celebrated with music from the Blue Steelers band.

There is a suggested donation for entry of £10 per bike and all bikes will automatically be entered in for 'Best in Show' trophy which is new for 2022. Israel explains why he chose to support CHSW through this event; "Children's Hospice South West really is a place that not only cares for families through their saddest times, but also helps families holistically and brings great joy to so many.

"I named the ride "Highway to Well" because I wanted not only to raise funds for CHSW but, also to celebrate and raise awareness of the fact that most of what they do brings about wellness to those they serve."
