Here's when Helston tip is open over New Year

Helston Household Waste and Recycling Centre will be closed on New Year's Day.

The regular opening hours are: Monday – Sunday 9.00am to 4.00pm.

The site address is Gays Hill, Helston, TR13 0QA.

The number plate entry system remains in place.

If you have any questions, you can contact the Waste and Recycling team on 0300 1234 141.

Real Christmas trees (under 6ft) will be collected for composting on the weeks beginning 11th January and 18th January.

The trees will be collected on the alternate week to your recycling collection. Place your tree out for collection besides your rubbish.

What is accepted at the site?

Asbestos (first, please phone 01726 828230)

Batteries (car batteries and household batteries)

Cans

Cardboard

Cartons and coffee / drink cups

Clothes and textiles

Cookers

Cooking oil

Energy-saving lightbulbs

Engine oil

Fridges and freezers

Fluorescent tubes

Gas bottles

Glass

Green/garden waste – Please do not bring Japanese Knotweed. Ragwort must be double-bagged and placed in the general waste.

Household chemicals (under 5 litres)

Household waste including large bulky items

Items for re-use

Metal

Newspaper and magazines

Paints

Plastic bottles

Soil and rubble (there is a fee to pay)

Small electrical items

TVs/monitors

Tyres (there is a fee to pay)

Wood
