Residents have praised the efficiency of Helston Waste and Recycling Centre following the reopening last week.
In a discussion on social media, one resident said how he was impressed as he had been to see first hand how the recycling centre is being operated, he said:
"I would like to say well done to the staff at the centre and Cornwall Council staff, SITA and Flambards for coming up with a very workable solution.
"You gain access to the site by going to Flambard's entrance where they are using the car park to queue those waiting to enter.
"Once at the centre, you are directed to one of three bays where there are a black bag and green waste skip. Throw all your stuff on, and exit the site.
"You then proceed to the main road using the normal access. They can take about 300 cars a day to keep the site and the staff safe."
The reopening was announced last week but for essential waste only.
Other residents also commented on the way the site was being managed, one comment read:
"Just been there myself very well set up and staff very helpful."
A second read:
"Went there on Thursday and I was really impressed, thought we would have to queue for ages but it was better than "normal", not quite the outing I had anticipated after weeks in lockdown but good to get rid of all the garden waste."
A third read:
"Went the other day, only four cars in front of me. It was quieter than on a normal day, maybe keep the car registration thing going forever."
