The Helston Rotary Club organised a special Trolley Dash to raise money for charity this Christmas after Rotarian Bob Cooling came up with the idea. Many tickets were sold as people wanted the chance to dash around Sainsbury's picking up as many goodies as possible.

The draw was won by Michelle Bradford from Predannack and she nominated her two sons Josh and Dan to do the dash on her behalf. She was unable to attend due to a prior commitment, but her husband came along to witness the event.

Yesterday (18th December) Josh and Dan had their chance and managed to get about £350 worth of goods during the dash but as the price was limited to £300 the final figure came to £300.96.

Mick Thompson a member of the Helston Rotary Club shared the news of how much money they had managed to raise, he said: "At a recent club meeting, it was decided that the Rotary Club would fund the cost of the draw tickets and when all was worked out we have managed to donate £1750 to Mustard Seed Helston and Lizard Foodbank."

Mick also wanted to give a special shout-out to a very generous member of the public, he said: "Last Wednesday when we were selling the draw tickets at Sainsbury's along came Jordan Rogers of Penrose, he was so enthused about what we were doing that he popped out to the ATM and withdrew £300 which he donated to the cause to pay for the contents of the winner's trolley!"
