Helston Town Council is now welcoming entries for the VE Day poster competition.

There will be no celebrations in the street this year due to the outbreak of Coronavirus, so the council will be running a competition of posters sent electronically.

Helston Town Council said:

"You might not be able to celebrate in the streets but you can definitely get creative at home.

"We are looking for young people to design a poster to celebrate VE Day."

The winners will receive a £25 WHSmith gift voucher and runners-up a £10 WHSmith voucher.

Open to age groups 11 years and under 12 - 16 years.

The poster and the completed entry form need to be forwarded to the Mayor by Friday 1st May.

Scan or photograph any hand-drawn entries, by email to [email protected]

The winners will be contacted on Tuesday 5th May 2020.
