Police in Helston are appealing for witnesses following a "professional butchering" of a sheep in the area of Nine Maidens.

The incident occurred during the night of Saturday the 7th of November 2020 into the morning of Sunday the 8th of November.

Yesterday we brought you the full statement as police believed the sheep was "deliberately mutilated" and farmers were urged to be extra vigilant.

A spokesperson for Falmouth and Helston police said this morning:

"The offenders utilised a vehicle which was likely left parked on the cut-through from the B3297 towards the B3280 which is the triangle-shaped cut through that runs around the back of the Ninemaidens school.

"This section of road is often used by those travelling between Camborne and Falmouth. If anyone saw any vehicles parked along that section of road or any vehicles acting suspiciously please call Crimestoppers or PC 7126 Tompkins at Devon and Cornwall Police on 101 quoting CR/094372/20."
