A man has died following an accident on the A394 overnight.

There were reports of a serious accident just after 10:30pm (2nd) near Porthleven, between Helston and Penzance.

A section of the road was closed for the duration of the evening - it remained shut this morning as an investigation took place.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police added: "Police were called at 10:35pm last night to the A394 at Porthleven following a report of a single vehicle collision.

"A man has been confirmed deceased at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

"The road was closed whilst officers carried out an investigation."

The route reopened shortly before 9am.
