Helston: Police appeal after motorcyclist dies in collision with a car

A motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene after a collision near Helston.

A motorcyclist died after being involved in a collision earlier this afternoon near Helston.

Around 2pm this afternoon, there were reports of a collision on the A3083 between Gilly Hill and Skyburriowe Lane.

The incident involved a car and a motorbike. The motorcyclist, a 51-year-old male, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed for most of the afternoon whilst the scene was examined by a specialist forensic collision investigator.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police added:

"Officers from the Alliance Roads Policing Team attended and are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the collision, or have dash camera footage, to contact police, quoting the log number 615 01/08/21."
