Storm Eunice is heading to Cornwall.
Storm Eunice is heading to Cornwall.

The coastguard have asked people not to attempt to take photos of the large waves as Storm Eunice rolls in.

A yellow weather warning was issued for Helston and surrounding areas this week with winds of up to 50mph expected.

Storm Eunice could see fallen trees, flying debris, large waves, and delays to public transport.

It will also be accompanied by high swell and spring tides. There will be a varying degree of impact for some coastal routes, sea fronts, and coastal communities.

HM Coastguard commented:

"Please take great care if you are going to look at the waves. Think about other people's safety as well as your own.

"No photo is worth your life, it only takes 15cm of water to take your legs out and scat you off your feet.

"Keep back from cliff edges, piers, harbour walls, and other exposed areas if it's choppy.

"If you see someone taking risks or putting others in danger call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

"The Area 11 teams might be out on safety patrols so please listen to their advice."
