Helston: Meneage Street roadworks pushed back due to unforeseen circumstances

Roadworks that were due to get underway along Meneage Street this week have been pushed back.

Overnight roadworks were set to go ahead on Monday 2nd August and completed on Friday 6th August, with a road closure and diversion in place for the duration.

However, this has been pushed back to start on Monday 9th August, due to an unforeseen resourcing issue, with the work expected to be completed by Friday 13th.

This is all being organised for resurfacing work on the main road through Helston.

A spokesperson for Cornwall Council sought to reassure residents that the noise overnight would be kept to a minimum, adding:

"We know that noise associated with nighttime work can cause disruption to residents and we understand this can be frustrating.

"Please be assured we aim to complete the noisiest operations as early as possible and will try to minimise any impact should the works overrun due to unforeseen circumstances.

"We will have marshals on-site to support residents and businesses needing local access. All through traffic will need to follow the diversions at all times."
