Helston Medical Centre are ramping up efforts to get local residents vaccinated.
This week Boris Johnson told the country that all adults over the age of 18 can now book their 'booster jab', a third dose of the coronavirus vaccine.
The centre said that in line with the PM's announcement more covid vaccine clinics are being organised.
However, there will be some slight changes to accommodate this. The surgery said they are not able to pre-book GP appointments until the New Year but there will be on the day availability for urgent issues.
The centre may also need to delay some routine reviews with the nursing team until the New Year - patients will be contacted if that is the case.
A Helston Medical Centre spokesperson said:
"We appreciate postponing appointments may be frustrating for some patients but this vaccination is a national imperative and it is most important that we prioritise protecting our patients."
Despite this being an extremely busy time for the team they have agreed to work additional hours at the weekend to minimise disruption.
They added:
"The vaccination appointments are available for first, second and booster vaccinations (Pfizer only). We have sent text invites to eligible patients. If you are registered with Helston Medical Centre or Porthleven Surgery and have not received a text invite but think you should be eligible please contact [email protected]
Thank you for your ongoing support during this challenging time." Click here to see more news and updates from Helston Medical Centre.Carry on the conversation on our Twitter and Facebook pages. [.B]
