A popular Helston eatery announced an immediate closure over the weekend after a staff member reported a positive lateral flow test.
Taste Cafe based in Crelly, made the announcement on Saturday (24th) and said they are waiting on further results.
The business said they were "not surprised" to be putting the announcement out after the rise in covid cases in Cornwall.
COVID-19 cases across the UK have fallen for five days straight, but Helston and the surrounding area are still seeing numbers rise.
In the past 7 days to the 20th July, 79 cases have been reported in Helston, 33 in Porthleven, 58 in The Lizard, and 26 in Wendron. All increased from the previous week.
In a statement on social media, a spokesperson for Taste Cafe said:
"We have also booked ourselves in for testing. We will update you all again in due course as to what will happen over the next few days.
"Once again, we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. We pride ourselves on our covid safe procedures, but these things happen."
