Helston: Graffiti and littering sparks warning from Coronation Park team

By Joseph Macey 9th Sep 2021

Recent litter and graffiti issues have sparked a warning from a local Helston park team.

The team behind the Coronation Park has urged for respect after recent incidents - reporting the issues to the police.

In a warning over social media, a spokesperson said the team is a small group of volunteers who are working "tirelessly" to clear up the park every day.

The park team is cleaning up litter every day, scrubbing off spray paint and repairing broken fences.

A Coronation Park spokesperson commented:

"By looking after the park you will be showing respect to the team who put so much effort into keeping it looking nice for everyone, the parents who bring their children here, the dog walkers, the cyclists, the grandparents, the skaters, in fact, everyone who visits and enjoys the space.

"Sadly over the past few days, there has been a worrying amount of offensive graffiti appear in the park (some of which we couldn't post on social media) as well as an incredible amount of litter. Not only is this incredibly frustrating for the park staff but consumes a huge amount of resources in time and money to put right.

"The incidents have been reported to the police but if anyone has any information which might assist in their enquiries please drop us a message."
