Helston fire crew called out to barn fire

Yesterday afternoon, fire crews were called to reports of a barn fire at Tolvan Cross, Gweek.

One fire appliance and a water carrier from Helston Fire Station, one fire appliance from Falmouth Fire Station and a Flexi Duty Officer attended this incident.

The fire involved a single storey granite barn used as a pump house, measuring approx 10m by 5m that was well alight.

The crews used two sets of breathing apparatus and two hose reel to extinguish the fire.

The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental from an electrical source.
