The family of a Helston teenager have issued a tribute following a fatal collision this week.

Alfie Beard, 19, died in a collision near Porthleven on Tuesday 2nd August.

They paid the following tribute:

"Alfie Beard 03.03.2003 - 02.08.2022.

"We are distraught to announce the passing of our precious boy. He was thoughtful, loving, generous, talented and determined, all in one - a truly amazing person.

"He was loved by many and adored so very much by us. We will hold you forever in our hearts and minds. Fly high sweet boy, until we meet again.

"Please allow us time to process our loss because we are all broken."

Emergency services were called at 10:35pm to the A394 to reports of a collision involving a silver Mini Cooper.

Mr Beard [pictured] was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Officers from the Roads Policing Team attended alongside the fire and ambulance services.

The road was closed overnight for officers to carry out a specialist examination of the scene.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and appealing for witnesses to contact them. They are also keen to hear from anyone who may have relevant dashcam of the incident.

If you have any information contact the force website or by telephone on 101, quoting log number 1106 of 02/08/22.
