Helston Community College has confirmed a covid case within the school in a letter sent out to parents today.

The college has been contacted by Public Health England advising of a case within the school.

The "small number" of children who have been in close contact with the individual who tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) have received a letter informing them that their child must stay at home for 10 days.

Headteacher Mr WN Jenkins added:

"We know that you may find this concerning but we are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England. Please be reassured that for most coronavirus (COVID-19) will be a mild illness."

The current advice is that the school remains open and children should continue to attend as normal if they remain well.
