Roadworks are set to begin in Helston next week that will see a lengthy disruption through a main route in town.

The work will be taking place on Meneage Street lasting for a couple of weeks.

As reported recently, cabling works means a road closure from 7:30am-6pm will be in force from 1st February until the 21st February (weekdays only).

Kevin Bryant, Head of Highways and Infrastructure, commented:

"The Council is satisfied that the order is needed because cabling works are being executed on or near the road.

"Nothing in this order will apply to emergency services, cyclists, traffic associated with the works required within the highway specified above, any vehicle being used for the purposes of an undertaker in an emergency, such as loss of utility supplies and anything done with the permission of or at the discretion of a police officer.

"Pedestrian and vehicular access to residents and businesses will be maintained."

A diversion will be in operation during these hours with motorists directed through Trengrouse Way, Clodgey Lane, Monument Road, and Coinagehall Street.
