A Helston company is set to start a new campaign focusing on handwashing.

South West Skills will attend a venue whether it be a school or a local centre and demonstrate handwashing, the group will then wash their hands and make use of a fluorescent lamp which will highlight any missed areas.

Each person will receive a certificate to say they have taken part in the session.

Lee Sturgess, Managing Director at South West Skills, told Nub News:

"The campaign is about washing hands correctly, we at SWSA feel it is important that children understand the importance of how and when to wash their hands.

"It was my idea, as a healthcare professional I understand how important it is to wash my hands correctly and would like to share my practice with others. Good handwashing can help prevent so many infections."

Helston Tesco, Clodgey Lane, is also sponsoring an Easter egg for the winner of the individual who produces the best picture of what they think a germ will look like.

Lee added:

"We are not placing a cost on this training as we feel this training is a necessity to educate people of all ages and levels in this current climate.

"We want this to be a community project where everyone has access to training."
