The Beehive Bar, Helston, is having its licence reviewed by Cornwall Council.

This comes after an application to grant a formal review of the licence was submitted last month.

The review document describes:

"Licensing Compliance has applied for the review of the premises licence following repeated complaints regarding the ever-growing levels of noise nuisance from the premises, very often continuing well into the early hours of the morning up to and sometimes beyond 0300hrs.

"The premises licence holder/Designated Premises Supervisor has not fully engaged with the council and continues to breach his premises licence conditions almost on a weekly basis despite advice from the council."

The previous application submitted included complaints from residents describing noise from the premises as 'a large heartbeat from a horror film'.

Facebook commenters responded to the news of the submitted application last month, with one commenter stating:

"The Beehive has been a public house for many years and has always had music (even live bands at times!), cannot believe some people want it closed down!"

Another commenter said:

"Maybe the people who are causing the offence should be barred."
