On Monday the owners of Hellys Teamoom, Lisa and Lee Spicer announced that they would be hanging up their aprons and passing on the business to a local couple named Simon and Sarah.

Lisa and Lee have run the business for the last seven years but will be stepping away from the business for family reasons, but don't worry if you still want to visit them they will be reopening the Hellys Deli Bar Cafe in Penzance that's been operating for the last 5 years as a bistro, they hope it open will be very soon.

The pair shared a heartfelt message on social media along with a photo of the two of them on what they called an "emotional day", saying: "Over the last seven years, we have absolutely loved growing Hellys Tearoom, it's been our baby and our passion. We have learnt so much along the way and we can truly say we have cherished every moment.

"Over the years we have had the blessing of amazing staff from which we had the pleasure of working with such a great 'working family' A huge thank you to you all.

"Our biggest thanks must go to all our awesome marvellous customers. We thank every single one of you for all your continued support and love over the years. We are incredibly thankful for all your loyalty and custom.

"Lots of our customers have become good friends and we are so sorry, we haven't been able to host a proper farewell."

The people of Helston let Lisa and Lee know they feel the same way as they filled the comments with wishes of good luck and sadness that they were leaving. Lita- Lee Jarold even went a step further and said: "We will come and see you at Penzance, you're not getting away from us that easy."

The new owners will have some big shoes to fill but Lisa and Lee were confident they would be a good fit: "We would like to wish the new owners, Simon and Sarah the best of luck with their new venture. We are sure they will bring a new flair to the Tearoom and to Helston. They are very much looking forward to meeting you all."
